Director-actor M Sasikumar is all set to be back in the director’s chair with Nayanthara playing the lead
Nayanthara, who is busy with several exciting projects in her lineup, has reportedly signed a new project. The Annapoorani actress is set to play the leading role in the next directorial project of director-actor M Sasikumar, according to reports. The latest grapevine suggests that the movie is set to be a women-centric film and that the lady superstar will be playing the lead. The shooting of the film is expected to commence soon, and fans are waiting for an official confirmation from the makers of the film.
This project will mark Nayanthara's first collaboration with the director. The new collaboration has sparked a lot of buzz among fans who are waiting to witness the actress-director duo’s magic on screen. Nayanthara, who has delivered some of the whistle-worthy women-centric films, has hardly failed to woo the audiences with her performance and screen presence.

Likewise, director M Sasikumar, who has directed critically acclaimed films such as Subramaniapuram, is sure to impress the audience with his marvellous direction. Interestingly, the actor-director will be returning to direction after a 14-year hiatus. The last film helmed by the director was the 2010 movie Easan.
On the work front, Nayanthara has several projects in the pipeline. The actress, who was last seen in the controversial drama Annapoorani, will next be seen in the cricket-based film Test, which also stars R Madhavan, Siddharth and Meera Jasmine in lead roles. Apart from that, the actress will also be seen in the upcoming Tamil film Mannangatti Since 1960. The Jawan star will also reportedly make a cameo appearance in the Vignesh Sivan directorial LIC.

On the other hand, Sasikumar has Pagaivanuku Arulvai, Naa Naa and Nandhan on the acting front. The actor had earlier announced directing a film with Anurag Kashyap as the lead. However, the project is yet to materialise.
