Mari Selvaraj's third outing Maamannan has already turned out to be the biggest grosser of Udhayanidhi, despite the film not opening to a unanimous response, unlike the former's first two films Pariyerum Perumal and Karnan. The movie has grossed around 40 crores after a week of its theatrical run.

The makers announced recently that the Telugu version of the project, titled Nayakudu, will hit the screens in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on July 14. Film buffs are eager to know how much the political drama will earn from Tollywood.

The team has now surprised one and all by announcing that the trailer of Nayakudu will be out today at 6 pm. Interestingly, they have roped in Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli from Tollywood to launch the trailer from their social media pages. The Telugu superstar and the maverick filmmaker are set to team up for an ambitious project, and their mutual fans are elated.

Ahead of an official announcement on their collaboration, cinephiles are thrilled to see the duo releasing the promo video. Asian Cinemas and Suresh Productions have bagged the theatrical rights of Nayakudu in Telugu states.

Maamannan has registered the fourth opening in Tamil cinema this year after Thunivu, Varisu and Ponniyin Selvan 2. Vadivelu's performance, Fahadh's presence and AR Rahman's music have been garnering positive responses among movie buffs. Theni Eswar's cinematography is another aspect that has received appreciation.
