Days ago, on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi, the team had revealed the trailer of Thothapuri: Chapter 2. This time around, much of the story will focus on the relationship dynamic of Ere Gowda and Shakeela Banu (Aditi Prabhudeva) and Dhananjay and Victoria (Suman Ranganath). In a video message for the trailer launch, Jaggesh had said that while Chapter 1 introduced audiences to the characters of the film, which also included Hema Dutta and Veena Sundar, Chapter 2 is when the story truly unfolds. From the looks of it, Thothapuri 2 appears to be a tale of inter-faith romance and the challenges that come with that.

THothapuri: Chapter 1 had released on September 30 last year, along with Kantara and Ponniyin Selvan and the film, obviously, could not make a mark at the box office. It was thought that the makers would skip a theatrical outing for the second instalment, but then producer Suresh first announced it along with Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer. Since he failed to get shows/screens, he then pushed the film ahead and has now decided to bring it to theatres on September 28, which was meant for Salaar, but once the Prashant Neel film bowed out of the race, multiple movies have taken that spot. In Karnataka, Thothapuri: Chapter 2 will have Golden Star Ganesh’s Baanadariyalli, Siddharth’s Chittha, The Vaccine War, Fukrey 3, Skanda, Chandramukhi 2, Rules Ranjann, Saw X, Iraivan and Kannur Squad, for company, fighting for a chunk of the box office.
