National Awards: Alia Bhatt reveals why she chose her wedding outfit for the award ceremony

Alia Bhatt won the Best Actress award at the 69th National Film Awards. The actress attended the award ceremony in New Delhi. She was accompanied by her husband Ranbir Kapoor at the event. Alia received the award for her pathbreaking performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi.

For the award ceremony, the actress chose to wear her wedding outfit. The reason behind the same has been finally revealed.

Alia reveals why she wore her wedding outfit at National Awards

The actress took to her Instagram story and shared her stunning photo. While posting her IG story, Alia revealed the reason she opted for her wedding outfit for the 69th National Film Awards.

"A special day calls for a special outfit. And sometimes... the outfit is already right there. What's special once can be special again. And again... :) rewear reuse repeat (sic)," she captioned it.

The day her National Award victory was announced, Alia had penned, "To Sanjay Sir..To the entire crew..To my family..To my team & last but most definitely not the least — To my audience.. This national award is yours .. because without you ALL none of this would be possible.. seriously!!! (sic)."

On sharing the honour with Kriti Sanon (for Mimi), the actress added, "P.S – Kriti .. I remember messaging you the day I saw Mimi .. it was such an honest and powerful performance.. I cried and cried.. so so well deserved.. shine on you star… the world is your oyster (sic)."

On the work front for Alia

Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia was last seen in Heart of Stone. The actress made her Hollywood debut with the Netflix film. Prior to that, she delivered a successful Hindi film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
