The actor’s first look, released earlier this week, received positive reception from the audience. ‘Athma came my way when I was in search of films that could prove my acting skills’
In a recent interview, Narain revealed that after starring in a cop role in Kaithi, the actor was more inclined towards playing police characters. The actor also revealed that he was, however, in search of roles that would prove his acting skills. “Although after Kaithi, I was keen on doing cop-based roles, I was also in search of a film that could prove my acting skills. I had rejected almost 10 films, and that was when Athma came my way. Athma is a very important film in my career that challenged me to do better in my craft,” the actor said.
Narain speaks about his latest work with Lokesh Kanagaraj; hints at a connection with the LCU
He also revealed that he had undergone severe physical transformation to play the role in the Tamil film. “When they narrated the story to me, I doubted whether I could play such a character. I gained the courage to act after watching Kamal Haasan's 'Sippikkul Muthu’. I even got to interact with people suffering from autism and to learn their body language. I struggled a lot to for the training. It took me two years to play this role as I had to gain 12 kilo weight. They say this character will win me awards. I can't say much about that, although recognition of my talent is what I am seeking,” the actor elaborated.
