From passionately wooing and marrying the sensual widow Joséphine to making love under the table, Napoleon had a lust for the extreme, both in battle and pleasure. On the battlefield, Napoleon was a genius and he did not hesitate to let enemies see him. In fact, he hopes for it, so that they may fall into his trap and succumb to icy deaths by drowning. The film is not fully accurate, but its sensational and performative merit makes up for it.
