Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam teaser: A whole village is asleep in this Mammootty-starrer

Malayalam film fans have been disappointed a few times after reports of a collaboration between Mammootty and Lijo Jose Pellissery were turned down. It is now confirmed that the two will team up for two projects.

The makers of Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam their first collaboration, have released a teaser for the film.

The teaser rights away feels like a Lijo Jose film, with some random shots of some animals edited to the music. The video then soon becomes that of people in a village all sleeping in the daytime, in groups.

When the music stops towards the end of the short teaser, we see Mammootty sleeping in the veranda of a house. The teaser is particularly exciting for the fans, who can expect yet another film where the director stamps his trademark styles.

The film is backed by Mammootty under the banner of Mammootty Company, the actor’s newly launched production house. Written by S Hareesh who wrote Jallikettu, the film is reportedly set in Pazhani, Tamil Nadu.

While Lijo Jose and Mammootty finally teaming up for Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam the two are also working on a second project. Lijo Jose directs Mammootty for a segment for the upcoming Netflix anthology, which is based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s short stories.

Mammootty is still a busy bee, and is working on a number of projects. The actor is working on K Madhu’s CBI 5 where he will return for the fifth and final time as Sethurama Iyer. He is also awiting the release of Puzhu co-starring Parvathy Thiruvothu and the Telugu action flick Agent starring Akhil Akkineni.
