Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam teaser 2: Mammootty shines in the single shot teaser of Lijo Jose Pellissery’s next

Made under the banner of Mammootty Kompany, this is the first time the actor has worked with Lijo Jose.

After years of speculation and reports, Mammootty and Lijo Jose Pellissery have finally come together to work on a project. The movie, titled Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, has already grabbed the attention of cinephiles for the same reason. The makers have now released a second teaser for the upcoming film.

The teaser, like the first teaser, reveals nothing about the film, its plot, characters, or what to expect. Set in a local bar, the 86-second teaser is a single shot that involves no camera movements. We see a drunk Mammootty stand up and lip sync to a dialogue from a Tamil movie, which can be heard from nearby.

This is all the teaser has to offer the viewers, apart from how Lijo Jose has executed the frame. Two neon tube lights divide the frame into green and red. The backdrop and setting are also highly commendable, with a number of extras just boozing. Lijo is known for his attention to detail and using people from the film’s locality as extras for his projects.

Written by frequent collaborator S. Hareesh, who also penned Jallikattu and Churuli, the movie is the first time Lijo and Mammootty are teaming up for a project. Lijo and Mammootty are also working on a second project, which is a segment for the upcoming Netflix anthology, which is based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s short stories.

The movie’s makers released the first teaser a few months ago, which also did a great job of not revealing any information about the film. Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam is backed by Mammootty’s new production house, Mammootty Kompany.

Mammootty, who was last seen in Puzhu (Sony LIV), has Rorschach and the Telugu movie Agent starring Akhil Akkineni in the works.
