Nani grooves to Hi Nanna’s Odiyamma with college students, calls it a new party anthem

Nani launches Odiyamma

Hi Nanna, the emotional father-daughter drama, is gearing up for a grand theatrical release across Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam on December 7. Nani, Baby Kiara Khanna, Mrunal Thakur essay pivotal roles in the film, written and directed by Shouryuv. Vyra Entertainments is bankrolling the drama, whose new single Odiyamma was released in a private engineering college yesterday.

Hesham Abdul Wahab composes the music. Odiyamma is a party track sung by Dhruv Vikram (actor Vikram’s son), Shruti Haasan and Chinmayi Sripada and has lyrics by Anantha Sriram. Three other songs from the film - Samayama, Gaaju Bomma and Ammadi - have struck a chord with music enthusiasts and Odiyamma brings a new, hep dimension to the album.

The Telugu song has garnered over 1 million views on Youtube within a day of its launch. Nani was at his spirited-best during the promotional event for Odiyamma, interacting with college students and even grooving to the number with them. Given the fact that the venue - Vardhaman College of Engineering - has its chairman Dr Vijender Teegala as one of its producers, the students had an additional reason to be excited about it. Select portions of the film too were shot in the college.

“Regardless of the party you go, Odiyamma should play in the background. Thank you so much for the mad energy. There are many talented artists, singers among you. You must start giving auditions to Vijender garu regularly. Releasing such an energetic song amidst you all gives me so much joy,” Nani shared. He was also in Chennai and Kochi to promote the film a few days ago.

Director Shouryuv, while opening up about the film, said, “The college is like family, we shot more than 35 days of the film here, all thanks to the chairman. Watch Hi Nanna in theatres on December 7.” Hi Nanna also stars Angad Bedi, Jayaram, Priyadarshi. Sanu John Varghese cranks the camera for the film which is edited by Praveen Antony.
