While December in Telugu cinema is packed with one biggie after the other - including Hi Nanna, Extra Ordinary Man, Salaar, Operation Valentine - a few intriguing small-budget films too aim to make a mark. One among them is Breathe, a thriller headlined by NTR’s grandson Nandamuri Chaitanya Krishna (son of Nandamuri Jayakrishna). The film is releasing in theatres on December 2.

Ahead of its release, the film’s pre-release event was held in Hyderabad yesterday. At the event, while talking about the project, the director Vamsi Krishna Akella expressed his gratitude to Nandamuri Chaitanya Krishna and Jaya Krishna for giving him an opportunity. “The title - Breathe (Vaidyo Narayano Hari) - should tell you what the film is about, but I can guarantee you that it’s an edge-of-the-seat thriller.”

Breathe will shock you, excite you, create tension, but you’ll feel it’s right and apt, he added. “It’s reality in a hypothetical situation, blended with thriller elements. Nandamuri Chaitanya Krishna is a chivalrous man on the sets and worked on the film without any airs. Except for Vennela Kishore, everyone in the team are newcomers. We’ve made a new, promising film.”

Nandamuri Chaitanya Krishna said he wanted his banner to be named after his grandparents - Basavatarakarama - and that he’s entering the industry with their blessings. “My dad encouraged me to act. He told I may be NTR’s grandson but it’s talent and my style that would take me forward. The film revolves around medical mafia, audiences need to know the reality and they deserve a message-oriented film.”

The actor stated that director Vamsi Krishna took care of every aspect of the process - look, characters, performances. “I’m sure we’ll be a hit combination like Balakrishna and Kodi Ramakrishna. The photography, colour grading in the film is another major highlight. After the director, it’s composer Mark K Robin who’s the captain of the ship and he’ll get his due with the film. Vaidika performed with ease,” he mentioned.
