Choreographer-turned-director Murali master is set to bring his next directorial, Namo Bhoothathma 2 to theatres. This is his second collaboration with lead actor Komal Kumar after their earlier Namo Bhoothathma, which came out a decade ago. While the first film was the remake of a Tamil flick, this time around, Murali says that he’s bringing an original subject to audiences. Well, the level of originality will have to be seen, considering that a lot of what was shown in the teaser and now, the trailer too, looks way too familiar.

According to the trailer, a bunch of friends land at a mansion in Chikkamagaluru, but then begin to experience paranormal activities. Can they find a way out and survive the evil at this mansion? This forms the crux of the trailer. However, director Murali says that Namo Bhoothathma 2 is not about a ghost story and that contrary to the title, he has presented a comedy. Given that Komal is the leading man, it was understood that humour would be a mainstay of the narrative.

Namo Bhoothathma 2, which also stars Lekha, Mimicry Gopi, Mahantesh, Govinde Gowda, Rudresh, Monika and Varun Raj, will be in theatres on August 4. The team had recently released the romantic number Ayyo Ayyo, the picturization of which was very similar to that of the Pyaarge Aagbitaithe song from Govindaya Namaha, which also featured Komal and had been choreographed by Murali.

Namo Bhoothathma 2, according to reports, is among the lucky few Kannada films to have managed pre-release post theatrical rights sales already. From what we hear, the film will land on Sun Network after its theatrical run, much like the original film.
