This is Nagshekar's first directorial with Darling Krishna and Bhavana.
Even as filmmakers in Karnataka continue to wait for word from the government to allow 100% occupancy in theatres, as against the current 50%, some are going ahead and announcing their release for the festive season during Dasara. While Sudeep’s Kotigobba 3 is supposedly one of the contenders for this window, we now hear that Darling Krishna will also have a release then.
The actor took to social media to announce that his film with Bhavana Menon, directed by Myna-maker Nagshekar, Srikrishna@gmail.com, will release on October 14. The film is, apparently, being released as a Kannada-Malayalam bilingual, given Bhavana’s popularity back home in Kerala. This is Krishna’s first film with Bhavana. In fact, Nagshekar has been quoted as saying that Bhavana was chosen not only because of her acting prowess, but also because she would be a fresh pair for Krishna. According to the filmmaker, Bhavana will play a lawyer in it. Krishna adds that Srikrishna@gmail.com is a feel-good love story.
The film is a romantic drama that follows the lead couple and their relationship dynamic prior to and after getting married. Actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty plays a pivotal role in the film, as does Achyuth Kumar. Srikrishna@gmail.com has music by composer Arjun Janya, with one song, Kudi Notada, sung by Sanjith Hegde, already making waves on the charts.
Meanwhile, while this is Nagshekar’s first directorial with Krishna, the duo have another cinema connect. Nagshekar has also helmed the Telugu remake of Krishna’s debut directorial Love Mocktail, called Gurthunda Seethakalam, with Satyadev, Tamannaah and Kavya Shetty in lead roles and Megha Akash in a cameo.
