The action thriller, also starring Sonal Chauhan, Anikha Surendran and Gul Panag, is directed by Praveen Sattaru
While son Naga Chaitanya is prepping up for his Hindi debut Laal Singh Chaddha this weekend, ‘daddy cool’ Nagarjuna is as busy as ever. The latter is gearing up for his second release of the year, The Ghost, a spy thriller directed by Praveen Sattaru. Sonal Chauhan is the female lead in the film produced by Narayan Das Narang, Puskur Ram Mohan Rao and Sharrath Marar.
The Ghost, which is all set to hit theatres on October 5, wrapped its shoot today. Nagarjuna will be seen in an intense avatar, cast as a skilled, lethal Interpol officer Vikram. The makers released a special video confirming the ‘shoot wrap’ where Nagarjuna is seen firing a gun. The team, in a joyous mood, even cut a cake on the set. The film formally commenced shoot in early 2021.
The team released a special poster where Nagarjuna is leaning on a massive Jeep in the company of Sonal Chauhan. Both the on-screen Interpol officers are as fit and stylish as ever in the poster carrying machine guns. The latest addition to the film is Mark K Robin, who is working on the background score. Mani Sharma had exited the project for unknown reasons.
The film’s release date, October 5, shares a special connection with Ram Gopal Varma’s Shiva. The iconic actioner in Nagarjuna’s career that catapulted his stardom to great heights had also released on the same day 33 years ago. The Ghost is releasing during the Dasara festive weekend and it should work to the film’s advantage. Anikha Surendran and Gul Panag too play key roles the film.
Produced under Sree Venkateshwara Cinemas LLP and Northstar Entertainment, The Ghost has cinematography by Mukesh G. Brahma Kadali is the art director while Dinesh Subbarayan and Kaecha are the stunt choreographers. Venkateswara Rao Challagulla is the executive producer. Praveen Sattaru is also working on a film with Varun Tej and a web series for ZEE5.
