Before NC 23 takes off, Naga Chaitanya will extensively promote Dhootha, a show that marks his OTT debut
Naga Chaitanya, who forayed into Tamil cinema with his bilingual cop drama Custody, will also be entering the OTT space with Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming show Dhootha. Directed by Vikram K Kumar, show brings together Chaitanya alongside Parvathy Thiruvothu, Prachi Desai, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Tharun Bhascker Dhasyam and Ravi Babu.
Dhootha is all set to premiere globally on December 1. The actor recently commenced his promotional drive for his OTT debut, participating in an interaction during the India vs New Zealand semi-final match. In a chat with host Nandu, Chaitanya revealed several intriguing details about Dhootha, offering a peek into its world.
“It is a supernatural thriller, there are a lot of layers in it. It has got a beautiful story. I am playing Sagar, a journalist. It’s the first time I’m playing a journo in my career. Vikram Kumar did a fabulous job with Sagar’s characterisation. The entire show is about predictions. A newspaper goes on to predict my life and of other journalists and they invite trouble into our lives,” he said.
The actor added that every episode will have a new prediction. “The premise revolves around how I overcome these predictions and the cause behind them.” Meanwhile, Chaitanya also launched his Youtube channel on Friday and the first video had him throwing light on Dhootha and his action drama NC 23, directed by Chandoo Mondeti.
“Dhootha is someone whom you’ll meet the first thing in the morning, your day won’t start without him/her. Even if you don’t interact with him in the morning, you’ll meet him at some point through the day. If this sounds confusing, Vikram Kumar, Prime Video will be more than happy to answer your questions. Dhootha will be out on OTT soon,” Chaitanya stated.
He also spoke about growing a beard for NC23, and how he’s very excited for the shoot. “We’ve already completed the first look shoot recently.”
