Due to the Kerala Film Exhibitors United Organisation (FEUOK) strike that was announced in February, the producers of the Malayalam film Once Upon a Time in Kochi chose to reschedule the film's theatrical premiere for February 23. But after a few days, the strike came to an end, and the postponed films began to receive release dates.
In addition to Once Upon a Time in Kochi, Prithviraj Sukumaran's comedy drama Guruvayoorambala Nadayil and Altaf Salim's Mandakini will also be released in May.
Mubin portrays a young man named Haibi in the teaser who is fighting a ruthless drug gang in Kochi in order to save his girlfriend, Janaki.
