Dhanush debuted with Selvaraghavan in the 2002 movie Thulluvadho Ilamai
Dhanush-Selvaraghavan combo is infamous in Kollywood for delivering sleeper hits. Each time they collaborate, they deliver superhits and trendsetting movies. In Naane Varuven, Dhanush and Selvaraghavan join hands again for the sixth time. According to the latest news, the shooting will begin in October.
Earlier, Selvaraghavan announced that the shoot will begin in August. But the schedule was postponed due to the COVID-19 restrictions and Dhanush’s previous commitments. The movie is expected to release in 2022, marking 20 years of the Dhanush-Selvaraghavan combo. The actor and director both debuted in the 2002 coming-of-age Tamil drama Thulluvadho Ilamai.
They later collaborated again in Kadhal Kondein, Pudhupettai, Yaaredi Nee Mohini and Mayakkam Enna. All the movies were later declared as cult films showcasing the acting merits of Dhanush at each phase of his career. Mayakkam Enna, the last movie they joined hands for, is about a talented photographer in pursuit of fame.
Meanwhile, Dhanush is currently shooting for Maaran and Thiruchitrambalam and waiting for the release of his Hollywood movie, The Gray Man. The actor was last seen in the Netflix release Jagame Thandhiram, in which he played Suruli, a local Madurai gangster who had to escape to London due to certain circumstances. The movie was a hit among the audience, despite receiving negative reviews.Selvaraghavan last worked on the critically acclaimed Tamil horror movie Nenjam Marappathillai, which dealt with subjects of domestic violence and drug abuse. The movie was released on Zee5 after a short theatrical run and it garnered critics’ attention on OTT for the overwhelming performance of SJ Suryah, who played the anti-hero in the movie as a lust-crazed man.
