Malayalam cinema doesn’t usually have special dance numbers as part of its content, but when the makers do make room, they try to go big by roping in actresses such as Nora Fatehi (Kayamkulam Kochunni), Sunny Leone (Madhuraraja) and Waluscha De Sousa (Lucifer). For the upcoming crime thriller Nobody, the film’s makers have cast singer-actress Amika Shail for a special dance number.

This will mark the first dance number of Amika, who has been part of shows such as Baalveer Returns, Udaan and Mirzapur 2. The crime thriller has Lena, Rahul Madhav, Suresh Krishna, Irshad Ali and Kailash as part of the cast.

Talking about her performance in her Malayalam debut, Amika, in a statement, said that it's a peppy track and she loved shooting for the song. “Item songs these days have become a talking point in films. I hope to do a lot of such songs in the future,” she said.

The makers are reportedly planning to release the movie in Tamil and Telugu as well and the song too will be dubbed in the respective languages. The actress, who has been part of OTT series such as Trapped and Hai Taubba, further added that being a singer, the track immediately struck a chord with her. “The song is an expression of celebration of sensuality just like my all-time favorite item number Oo Antava Mava from Pushpa,” she said, adding that it was a challenging task because of the language. However, to enjoy music, language is not a barrier, she explained.

In an interview to Hindustan Times earlier this year, the actress said that she was looking to take a break from TV to pursue new opportunities on other mediums and reinvent herself as an artiste. Amika, who had also shot for Mussoriie Boyz earlier this year, said she was hoping that her Malayalam foray too is received by the fans with the same support that they had lent her for her previous projects.
