Going by the teaser, the Vijay Binni directorial makes good use of Nagarjuna’s strengths
Naa Saami Ranga
Barring Bangarraju, not many of Nagarjuna’s films in the recent years have fully pleased his fans. While The Ghost tried to showcase him in a stylish action avatar, it couldn’t impress a majority of his loyal fans. It’s not surprising why the star has taken it slow this year - not having any release and racing against time to wrap up the shoot of Naa Saami Ranga, the remake of Porinju Mariam Jose.
While Naa Saami Ranga was to initially take off with Prasanna Kumar Bezawada as the director, the choice to let choreographer Vijay Binni wield the megaphone took many by surprise. Much like his 2022 release Bangarraju, for which the team wrapped up shoot at a record pace, the star is displaying the same agility to finish the filming of Naa Saami Ranga just in time before Sankranthi 2024.

The teaser, promos and the first single have given just the right momentum for the team. Ashika Ranganath has won over a huge section of fans in Telugu cinema and crowds were happy to see an energetic Nagarjuna sticking to his strengths. With the right amount of exuberance, the star flexes his muscles and woos his lady love in style - one can say the ‘vintage’ Nagarjuna is well and truly back.
Given Bangarraju was more a Naga Chaitanya film than Nagarjuna’s, Naa Saami Ranga now has the right ingredients to please his fans with the vibrant backdrop working well to lend it a festive fervour. It’s encouraging to see two young actors - Allari Naresh and Raj Tarun - bring their spin to this setup. The return of the Nagarjuna-MM Keeravaani combo is another reason to be curious about the film.
If Eagle and Saindhav are catered to action junkies and may have a restrictive audience, Guntur Kaaram and Naa Saami Ranga are entertainers timed perfectly for the festival season. The superhero saga HanuMan, given the capabilities of its director Prasanth Varma, actors Teja Sajja, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Vinay Rai, can’t be underestimated either.
