As announced earlier, the makers of My Dear Bootham have unveiled its trailer. The two-minute video has Prabhu Deva playing a genie, which does what is expected from the fairytale character. Ashwanth of Super Deluxe (streaming on Netflix) fame is another actor who will be seen essaying a pivotal role in the film.

Ramya Nambeesan, who essays the role of Ashwanth's mother, plays the female lead in the project which has been directed by N Ragavan. The trailer has Prabhu Deva sporting a never-before-seen look, akin to the genie's avatar we have come across in fairy tales.

The film's story revolves around the fascinating changes which happens in the life of a school boy after he befriends a genie named Karkimuki. Though he takes some time to come to terms with the fact that he is accompanied by a genie, he gradually becomes close to him.

The genie is seen having a gala time accompanying the boy to school and shopping. The duo is seen brushing teeth together, flying on a horse and indulging in many other unbelievable things which are expected to be a treat for children and family audience.

Produced by Ramesh P Pillai of Abhishek Films, My Dear Bootham has music by D Imman and cinematography by UK Senthil Kumar. San Lokesh has edited the movie which has dialogues written by Deva. GN Murugan and Sridhar have choreographed action scenes and dance movements respectively for the film.

Though the makers have confirmed that the film will release in 2022 through the trailer, an official date is yet to be announced. The movie marks the second collaboration of Prabhu Deva and Ramya Nambeesan after Karthik Subbaraj's Mercury (streaming on Zee5).
