Nikkhil Advani's TV series P.O.W. - Bandi Yuddh Ke is all set to stream on an OTT platform after nearly four years. The show which aired on Star Plus from 2016 to 2017 will release on MX Player from August 13, 2021. The show streamed on Hotstar until 2018 and then the streaming platform discontinued it. The lead actors of P.O.W. are Satyadeep Mishra, Purab Kohli, Sandhya Mridul, Amrita Puri, Tisca Chopra and Manish Chaudhari.

MX Player dropped a trailer of the series and described it shortly as - In 1999, three Indian soldiers were captured and taken prisoners in Pakistan. But after 17 years of negotiations, Squadron Leader Imaan Khan and Officer Sartaj Singh, two among the three soldiers are rescued and they are united with their families in 2016. However, the third soldier comes back in a coffin.

Imaan and Sartaj must strive to continue where they left off and adapt to an ordinary life despite the psychological and physical trauma due to imprisonment and years of torture. But inaccuracies in their accounts arise and a government agent launches a covert investigation to learn the truth about their return after 17 years.

Earlier during an interaction with Mid Day, when Nikkhil was asked about P.O.W. getting discontinued on Hotstar, he told in 2020 that the rights are with the Israeli media house, Keshet Media Network which aired the original series Hatufim. P.O.W. is based on the Israeli series which was adapted as Homeland in English.

Nikkhil added that Hotstar struck a deal with the network to adapt Hatufim in Hindi but it was restricted to only a round of airing and got extended till 2018 while the show ended in the previous year.

Advani called the show a close-ended miniseries and said that had it been released on a streaming platform, the response by the audience would have been different.
