After starring in Jio Cinema’s Shekhar Home, Kay Kay Menon is all set for his next project. The actor, who is known for his brilliant acting on screen, is all set to impress the viewers with his upcoming web series titled Murshid. The show is termed as a high-octane and gritty drama that takes us through Mumbai’s underworld saga. As the show is bearing its release date, here’s everything you need to know about it.
The gangster drama Murshid is all set to release on ZEE5. The show will premiere on August 30. You can also watch the eigh-episode series on OTTplay Premium with a subscription.
According to the trailer, the show promises a thrilling ride of crime drama, and action. Kay Kay Menon stars as the retired don who is now pulled back into the dangerous underworld.
With all the dark and gritty world of Mumbai, then Bombay's, criminal world, the show brings Memom as Murshid Pathan, a retired don who is now back by being more powerful and angry as he hopes to escape. He takes this deadly step when his old adversary Farid, played by Zakir Hussain drags Murshid's son into a perilous scheme.
As Murshid makes a comeback into the underworld to protect his family and legacy, this time he is pursued by Inspector Kumar Pratap Rana, played by Tanuj Virvani, who is also his adopted son. Kumar is manipulated by the powerful politician Jayendra, played by Rajesh Shringarpure, and plans a betrayal against Murshid. For the uninitiated, Kay Kay earlier played the role of a police officer in the show Bambai Meri Jaan which also featured Avinash Tiwary and Kritika Kamra. The actor is now playing a totally opposite character and it will be interesting to watch him play a dangerous don.
