Murder Mubarak
Following the star-studded reveal of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi, Netflix keeps the momentum going with another striking announcement of Murder Mubarak. While Heeramandi boasts a powerful female ensemble including - Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadda and Sanjeeda Shaikh, Murder Mubarak brings together a vibrant mix of established and rising talents like - Karisma Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi and Janhvi Kapoor. It seems Netflix is on a roll, delivering one captivating surprise after another, and we can't wait to see what comes next!
Directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Stree-famed Dinesh Vijan, Murder Mubarak is a mystery-thriller that offers a marvellous adaptation of Anuja Chauhan's novel - Club You To Death, which was published in 2021. Murder Mubarak is coming soon on March 15, 2024, only on Netflix.
The 1:28-minute announcement video offers a captivating introduction to the star-cast by Pankaj Tripathi. Through a series of intriguing questions he challenges our assumption about appearances and characters. What does a killer look like? Can they be a South Delhi girl like Sara Ali Khan, a deadly lover from Chandni Chowk like Vijay Varma, a timeless beauty reminiscent of old films like Karisma Kapoor, a free-spirited artist like Dimple Kapadia, a regal figure like Sanjay Kapoor, or a quick-witted individual like Tisca Chopra? This unique approach sets the stage for a story that promises to bring down expectations, and explore the complexities of human nature.
Although the plot of Murder Mubarak is not revealed yet, Anuja Chauhan’s book tells a story about how a prestigious Delhi Turf Club becomes a crime scene. The story introduces us to a murdered personal trainer, his seemingly accidental death by barbell, is a mere cover for a sinister plot. The mystery unfolds amidst the luxuriousness of Delhi's high society, where every member has something to hide.
In April 2023, Karisma Kapoor took to social media, offering a glimpse into the celebratory wrap party of Murder Mubarak. The photos buzzed with excitement, showcasing the whole star-cast, director, and producers celebrating in cake-cutting revelry. The infectious joy and togetherness translated into stunning pictures, provoking the fans' curiosity about the upcoming project.
