Actor Murali Radhakrishnan, who is elated about Vignesh Karthik’s Thittam Irandu releasing on SonyLIV this Friday, says he’s looking forward to the response of viewers. The film, starring Aishwarya Rajesh in lead role, which went on floors during the first lockdown, was wrapped up during the second lockdown. The makers were hoping for a theatrical release, but decided to choose OTT due to the current uncertainty. The actor, who was previously seen playing the lead role in Thoppi says he has started choosing character roles and hopes that his role, that of a cop, in Thittam Irandu, a whodunit, would bring him attention.
Talking to OTTplay, he says, “I play a sincere cop, someone who remains truthful to the character played by Aishwarya. I’m happy to have landed an interesting role in the film which has several twists and turns. This is one such movie which deserved a theatrical release. People would have loved the edge-of-the-seat sequences more while watching in the big screen. Nevertheless, we are happy that the movie will reach audiences across the globe through SonyLIV. This is the new normal and we have to accept it. As far as I have observed, OTT platforms offer good scope for character artists, though I believe that films like Soorarai Pottru and Sarpatta Parambarai would have been more enjoyable in theatres.”
Murali has Ramachandran’s Pechi and Sundar Krish’s Anugrahan ready for release. While the former is a horror thriller based on a short film of the same name by legendary filmmaker Balu Mahendra, the latter narrates the story of a father and a child who share a great relationship.
