This is the fourth film in the franchise - after Stree, Rooh-Afza and Bhediya
After making her Bollywood debut with Bunty Aur Babli 2, actress Sharvari Wagh is all set to explore the horror-comedy genre with her new film Munjha. It marks the fourth movie of Dinesh Vijan’s popular horror-comedy universe - after films like Stree, Rooh-Afza and Bhediya.
To be helmed by Marathi director Aditya Sarpodkar, who is known for films like Zombivli, Munjha is reportedly based on a folklore.
The making of Munjha was confirmed by the producer in 2019. But due to the pandemic and other issues, multiple changes had to be made to the script. Now, Sharvari is all set to play the female lead in the film.
Dinesh created the horror-comedy universe in 2018 with Stree, which starred Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. In 2021, Rooh-Afza was released, which featured Janhvi Kapoor, alongside Rajkummar Rao. Meanwhile, Bhediya was released in 2022, starring Varun Dhawan.
It will be interesting for the audience to wait and watch how the narrative takes shape with Munjha.
