Asit Kumarr Modi, the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmaah, is in legal trouble. A case against him has now been filed by the Mumbai Police as a result of a show actor's complaint. According to Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 354 and 509 (Assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to insult her modesty), the Powai Police has filed a case against Asit Kumarr Modi. But no arrests have yet been made.
Mumbai Police had earlier told The Indian Express, "Powai Police recorded the statement of the actor in connection with her sexual harassment allegations against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s producer Asit Kumarr Modi and two other members of the crew. The Police will also summon Asit Kumarr Modi soon for his statement.”
However, Modi has denied all the allegations. “We will take legal action as she is trying to defame me and the show both. Since we terminated her services, she is making these baseless allegations,” the producer shared in a statement.
Jennifer Mistry, an actress from the well-known sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmaah had previously left the show. She made severe accusations of sexual and mental abuse against the show's producer, Asit Kumarr Modi, following her departure after 15 years. She made a formal complaint of claimed workplace sexual harassment against producer Modi, Project Head Sohail Ramani, and Executive Producer Jatin Bajaj.
