The three-part mockumentary is set make its way on Amazon Prime Video.
Amazon Studios revealed in a tweet that the multi-part Borat special will be premiering on Amazon Prime Video on May 25.
The special, titled Borat Supplemental Reportings Retrieved From Floor of Stable Containing Editing Machine, will comprise of three parts. The first - Borat: VHS Cassette of Material Deemed “Sub-acceptable” by Kazakhstan Ministry of Censorship and Circumcision will showcase some never-seen-before footage from Borat’s award-winning sequel, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.
The second part, titled Borat’s American Lockdown, will feature a 40-minute reality show capturing the Kazak journalist Borat Sagdiyev as he spends five days with two conspiracy theorists at the peak of the pandemic.
The last fragment, titled Debunking Borat, will comprise six documentary shorts featuring Borat’s new roommates having their conspiracy theories debunked by some of the world’s leading experts. The shorts featured in the special are titled Vaccine Microchip, Mail-in Ballots Scam, Soros, China Virus, Gates’ Bricks and Hillary Clinton; Blood Libel.
The trailer for the multi-part special was released on YouTube on April 15.
The award-winning prequel of the special, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, the long-waited mockumentary was released on October 23 last year. The comedy was nominated in two Oscar categories including Best Adapted Screenplay, with Bakalova landing a nom for Best Supporting Actress. Among other accolades, the comedy also won two Golden Globes, including Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
