Mukhbir - The Story of a Spy promises to be a thrilling tale of espionage and exhilaration, set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. The makers of the espionage thriller series recently unveiled the trailer of the upcoming film, which gives a glimpse into the tale of a daring secret agent, who embarks upon a dangerous mission for his nation.
The trailer shows how the nation’s leaders struggle to get intel from the war zone, as there are no Indian spies stationed in Pakistan. As the situation gets dire, a ‘new asset’ is pulled out, in the form of a skilled spy who undertakes an undercover operation in the enemy country. But his journey is anything but smooth, and it remains to be seen if he crumbles under the pressure of having the entire nation rely upon him.
Check out the trailer below:
The upcoming series consists of eight episodes and stars Zain Khan Durrani, Prakash Raj, Adil Hussain, Barkha Sengupta, Zoya Afroz, Harsh Chhaya, Satyadeep Mishra and Karan Oberoi in pivotal roles. The series was helmed by Shivam Nair and Jayprad Desai.
In a statement, Prakash spoke of how proud he was to be a part of a show that celebrated the bravery and sacrifices of the unsung heroes of India - the nation’s spies. “These spies go unnoticed despite their silent but monumental work and hence, Mukhbir is our tribute to their self-less efforts”, he added.
Zain will be making his OTT debut with Mukhbir, and the actor said that he could not have asked for a better project to make his debut with. “I have grown up in Kashmir and have seen first-hand the challenges faced by the people during riots and wars so being a part of Mukhbir was even more emotional for me. The minute I read the script, I knew that I had to take it up as the character is so inspiring”.
Mukhbir - The Story of a Spy will premiere on ZEE5 on November 11.
