Mrunal Thakur roped in to play female lead in Sivakarthikeyan and AR Murugadoss’ upcoming SK 23?

Mrunal Thakur, who shot to fame in the south, with her period romantic drama Sita Ramam. has become of the A-listers and went on to play prominent roles in the south. While the actor was last seen in Telugu film Hi Nanna, speculation is rife that the actor will soon make her Tamil debut with two big projects, with one of them being SK 23.

SK 23 is directed by veteran director AR Murugadoss with Sivakarthikeyan playing the lead role. However, it is to be officially confirmed if Mrunal Thakur is indeed part of the project.

Mrunal Thakur in SK 23?

Sivakarthikeyan, who was last seen in Ayalaan, has become a bonafide star in Tamil industry, and has been choosing a variety of films to show his acting prowess. In line with this, it was earlier announced that the actor will be collaborating with director AR Murugadoss for a film tentatively titled SK 23. The film marks the maiden collaboration between Sivakarthikeyan and AR Murugadoss.

Now, as per reports, Mrunal Thakur is one of the top names contending to play the female lead in the film. If the news is true, it will mark her debut in the Tamil industry. It is also to be noted that rumours also float that the actor will also be part of STR 48 , starring Silambarasan in the lead role. This means, the actor will mark her stamp in Tamil with two big projects. Meanwhile. the actor is also awaiting the release of Family Star in Telugu alongside Vijay Deverakonda.

What did Sivakarthikeyan say about SK 23?

Speaking during the sidelines of Ayalaan promotions, Sivakarthikeyan had expressed his excitement for SK 23 and added how it is a dream for any actor to work with big league directors. Saying how it was always a dream for him to work with directors like S Shankar and AR Murugadoss, he recalled, “SK 23 is definitely a film I am very much excited about. The film will be a proper mass-entertainer and the most important thing is that there is a lot of scope for performance in the film, which I am very much looking forward to.”
