The trailer for Mrs. Undercover ZEE5's most recent direct-to-digital movie, has been made available. Radhika Apte plays Mrs. Undercover in the fun espionage comedy, which also features Sumeet Vyas, Rajesh Sharma, and Saheb Chatterjee in significant roles. The ZEE5 original film is scheduled to debut on April 14, 2023. Anushree Mehta, a debutante filmmaker, is in charge of writing and directing it, and B4U Motion Pictures is working with Jaadugar Productions and Knight Sky Cinema to produce it.

Durga, played by Radhika Apte, is a bumbling housewife who doubles as a spy in this amusing movie, as can be seen in the trailer. The Special Force hired her, and after a ten-year absence, they call her back to work. She has since forgotten everything about being an undercover agent since she has spent the last ten years caring for her patriarchal husband, son, mother-in-law, and father-in-law.

In fact, when her husband (Saheb Chatterjee) is questioned about what she does, he responds that she is only a housewife and doesn't do anything. The movie ends with the realisation that a housewife is a superwoman in the truest sense and is never 'just' a housewife because she skillfully multitasks her various responsibilities while combating the patriarchal norms that are deeply ingrained in Indian society. This realisation is conveyed through Durga's character.

According to Radhika Apte, Mrs. Undercover is special to her for several reasons. Not only is spy comedy a relatively unheard-of genre in India, but in her very first narration of this film, she fell in love with her character, Durga. Durga is funny, kind, and sincere, but she's also clumsy and unsure of herself, and this film is about her journey of discovering her strength. Every family has a Durga, a woman who silently performs her duties but is overlooked because she is viewed as "simply" a housewife. But this movie brilliantly combats that mindset, which rules in a patriarchal culture, while passing itself off as humour.

According to Sumeet Vyas, Radhika Apte is the star of the distinctive spy comedy Mrs. Undercover whose plot is unique in Indian cinema and written and directed by a woman. The film showcases the strength, courage, and resilience of a housewife who is always undermined. Mrs. Undercover is a complete package that packs a punch with all the elements that make for a great story.

While director Anushree Mehta stated that, as a cinema lover turned filmmaker, she has made Mrs. Undercover for audiences who want to watch wholesome, paisa vasool family comedies. Spy movies have had her heart for years, and comedy is something she swears by. Her first child had to be a mix of both. The current demand is for masala entertainment with a female lead that sends a message to every family that the lady who takes care of your home is more skilled than one may realise. She may and will change into Maa Durga, who is the absolute epitome of a woman if she is misunderstood. And to make her ideal movie, she had the greatest crew: Radhika Apte, who is incredibly gifted; Sumeet Vyas, a multi-talented actor; Rajesh Sharma; and her dependable producing partner, Abir Sengupta.
