Mr Pregnant OTT release date out; Sohel’s film to premiere on two streamers

The long delayed-drama Mr Pregnant featuring former Bigg Boss Telugu contestant Syed Sohel and Roopa Koduvayur in key roles, released in theatres this August 18. The film, which opened to decent reviews from critics, was written and directed by newcomer Srinivas Vinjanampati. It was produced by Appi Reddy, Ravi Reddy Sajjala, Venkat Annapareddy under Mic movies.

Nearly a month after its theatrical release, the film, which was hailed for its treatment of a novel subject like male pregnancy, is gearing up for its OTT premiere next weekend. The post theatrical streaming rights of the drama was bagged by two leading OTT platforms - aha and Amazon Prime Video. The digital premiere date was confirmed by the streamers today.

Mr Pregnant can be streamed by netizens on October 6, i.e. next Friday. Suhasini Maniratnam, Raja Ravindra, Brahmaji, Ali, Harsha, Abhishek Reddy Bobbala, Swapnika play other key roles in the film. Gandhi Nadikudikar is the art director for the film for which Nizar Shafi cranked the camera. Malli Raava fame Shravan Bharadwaj is the music director and Prawin Pudi is the editor.

The film revolves around Gautam (Syed Sohel), an orphan who is reluctant about marriage and having kids owing to his tragic past. Mahi (Roopa Koduvayur), a close friend, is head over heels in love with him. After Mahi’s persistence, Gautam agrees to marry her, with a condition that they will not have kids. However, Mahi gets pregnant and Gautam is a frustrated man.

After revealing why he isn’t in favour of having kids and with little choice ahead, he decides to bear the baby in his womb instead of his wife. He consults a doctor (Suhasini) to get the foetus exchanged. What are the complications that Gautam faces owing to his decision? “Mr. Pregnant has an intriguing storyline and good emotions that will connect with one and all,” OTTplay.com's critic wrote.
