Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor are gearing up to hit the big screen with cricket fever in their upcoming film, Mr. and Mrs. Mahi.

The confirmation of Mr. and Mrs. Mahi's release this month comes after a slight delay. Fans are excited as the film, starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles, prepares to hit the big screen on May 31, 2024. The makers have dropped the posters from the film, which echo what the film is all about.

The posters feature Rajkummar and Janhvi, both wearing Indian cricket jerseys, cheering for the team from the stands; their chemistry is palpable. Interestingly, both are Mahendra Singh Dhoni fans in the film, and just like the former skipper, their nicknames are also "Mahi," hence the title.

Sharan Sharma, whose debut film was Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020), is the director of Mr. and Mrs. Mahi while Karan Johar has co-produced the film under his home banner, Dharma Productions.

Rendition of Say Shava Shava in the film

As per the latest reports in Bollywood Hungama, Mr. and Mrs. Mahi features a new rendition of the popular song "Say Shava Shava" from the 2001 film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham according to their source. The makers haven't replicated the full song; rather, they've decided to take just the verse that starts with Dekho Tainu Pehli Pehli Baar Ve. The source also revealed to the entertainment portal that Rajkummar and Janhvi will play the song during a crucial scene.

The song is currently playing in the background, and its inclusion in the final cut remains uncertain. Relegating songs to the background is a decision that can sometimes lead to changes. They are waiting for the producers to make a decision, despite the fact that Dekha Tainu fits well with the plot.

Meanwhile, Janhvi recently drew notice at an IPL tournament while wearing a shirt that read "Mahi." This was all part of the film's marketing campaign.

Furthermore, this week is likely to see the release of the Mr. and Mrs. Mahi trailer.
