Mr. and Mrs. Mahi box office collection day 2: Mr. and Mrs. Mahi stars Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles. The film, which is directed by Sharan Sharma, was released in theatres on May 31, 2024. The sports drama opened in the theatres with flying colors, however, the collection of the film took a dip on its second day of release.
Mr and Mrs Mahi India box office update
The movie kicked off its box office journey with an impressive start by collecting ₹6.75 crore. On day two, the film saw a decline and earned ₹4.50 crore net in India as per early estimates. The film had an overall occupancy of 20.13% on Saturday. The total collection of the film now stands at ₹11.25 Crore.
The film, which was reportedly made on a budget of ₹30-40 crore and started with good numbers at the ticket window was expected to make somewhere around ₹5-6 crore on day 2. Given the fact that it was a Saturday and the footfalls in theatres should have been good, the film still saw a decline. The film still got one day of the weekend before getting into the Monday test. Let's wait and watch if the film can give itself the label of a 'hit'.
Earlier, in an interview with PTI, Janhvi Kapoor spoke about acting and movies, she said "Eventually, what’s meant to happen with a film always happens and it might not be what you expect but it will be what a film deserves. Every film has a destiny. Sometimes you don’t get what you hope out of a film. I’ve been in many scenarios where I’ve put all my eggs in one basket and I’m like, ‘With this film, everything will be set’. But sometimes you don’t realise what you need out of it.”
The movie revolves around a failed cricketer Mahendra (Rajkummar), who marries a doctor Mahima (Janhvi), and decides to coach her to become a professional cricketer. The film also stars Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra, and Zarina Wahab among others. The film marks the second on-screen collaboration between Janhvi and Rajkummar after Roohi.
