Ishitta Arun, the daughter of veteran actress and folk artist Ila Arun, gets candid about her relationship with her mother
Actress Ishitta Arun, the daughter of actress and folk artist Ila Arun, who was recently seen in the web series Rana Naidu, is gearing up for the release of her next show, Hansal Mehta's Scoop.
With Mother's Day around the corner, we spoke to Ishitta, who shares a warm and friendly relationship with her mother, who she says is the best entertainer in their house and someone who easily cooks up stories around a mundane meal.
When asked if there is any film that she would love to watch with her mother, Ishitta told OTTplay, "I love watching plays and live musical performances with my mother, rather than just a movie. She is a great audience member who gets immersed in the performance. She has a keen eye and notices every detail in an artist's performance. So, watching a live performance with her is an experience in itself."
The actress said that even though they have worked together in a few plays and enjoyed working on stage productions, she wishes to work in films or web series with her mother as well.
"I don't know why no one has thought of us casting together. It would be so much fun because no matter how brilliant, intense, and beautiful my mother is on screen, she is the funniest person at home. She is so entertaining, so she and I can do a comedy scene very well together," said the actress.
Speaking about a habit of hers that she still gets scolded for by Ila, Ishitta said with a laugh, "That is a tough one! Because there are many things my mom still scolds me for. My mother has a list of things...abhi bhi. She scolds me for always being too busy to talk and not picking up the phone on the first ring. I also keep forgetting something that she asks me to do, for which I get scolded."
No matter how busy she is, Ila always makes time to cook for her daughter, Ishitta.
Asked what her favourite dish is that her mother makes, Ishitta said, "My mom makes the best white chicken. That's my favourite dish."
Speaking about a unique ability that her mother has, Ishitta added, "Mom has the ability to make every mundane meal sound delicious merely by using her colourful vocabulary to describe it (laughs). My mother is a real artist."
