Marvel seems to be on a dark path and Michael Morbius promises to be a terrifying addition to it. The final trailer of Morbius was unveiled recently, and it signals at a tale that seamlessly blends the superhero genre with a work of horror.
Michael Morbius is a doctor who suffers from a rare kind of blood disease. His search for a cure to his affliction leads him down a dangerous path, and finds himself stricken with a terrible curse that transforms him into a bloodthirsty vampire. Unable to control his impulses and weakened without feeding on blood, he goes on a rampage, and viewers are treated to the terror he inflicts with his blood lust.
The trailer also features Loxias Crown, a supervillain who also suffers from Morbius’ condition. The Vulture, the main antagonist in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming also makes an appearance, with Michael Keaton reprising his role as the character.

Jared Leto stars as the titular protagonist in the upcoming film, while Matt Smith essays the role of Loxias Crown. The film also features Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal and Tyrese Gibson. The film is based on the Marvel comics character, Morbius, the Living Vampire, who first made his appearance in 1971. The character had initially appeared as a villain in the Spider-Man comics. The upcoming film will be a part of Sony's Spider-Man Universe.
Daniel Espinosa has directed the film from a script, written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
Morbius will be released in theatres on April 1, 2022. The film will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
