The upcoming Marvel film is based on the Marvel Comics character Morbius, the Living Vampire
Morbius promises to be one of the darkest and deadliest additions to the line of Marvel heroes yet. The living vampire is gearing up to take flight onto the silver screen soon.
What is Morbius about?
Morbius revolves around the story of a doctor, Michael Morbius, who suffers from a rare kind of blood disease. While going in search for a cure to his life threatening disease, he is struck with a curse that transforms him into a vampire with an unquenchable thirst for blood.
The film is based on the Marvel comics character, Morbius, the Living Vampire, who first appeared in comics in 1971. He was initially depicted as a villain in the Spider-Man comics. Roy Thomas created the character, which was originally designed by Gil Kane.
Who are the cast and crew behind Morbius?
Jared Leto stars as the film’s titular protagonist, while Matt Smith essays the role of the main antagonist. The film also features Michael Keaton as The Vulture, who reprises his role from Tom Holland’s 2017 film, Spider-Man: Homecoming. Morbius exists in the same universe as Sony’s Spider-Man films. The upcoming film also features Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal and Tyrese Gibson.
Daniel Espinosa has directed the film, which is written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
When and where to watch Morbius?
Morbius will be released in theatres on April 1, 2022. The film can be watched in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. When it comes to the film’s digital release, Sony has signed a deal with Netflix US, although details regarding whether or not the film will be released on the platform in international areas is yet to be known.
