Created by Jeremy Slater, the upcoming limited series also features Gaspard Ulliel, May Calamawy and Lucy Thackeray
The latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes in the form of Moon Knight. The upcoming limited series is set to premiere this month.
What is Moon Knight about?
Moon Knight revolves around the story of Marc Spector, a former mercenary who has dissociative identity disorder, which gives rise to a series of distinct personalities in him. After a near-death experience, he is granted superhuman abilities and powers from a mysterious Egyptian deity, Khonshu, leading him to become the Moon Knight.
Moon Knight is based on the Marvel comics character of the same name, created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin, who first made his appearance in 1975. In the comics, Spector’s near-death experience happens when he gets grievously wounded while trying to save a young woman. After being saved by Konshu, he becomes a crusader for justice to seek redemption for his violent past. The comics also provide different theories as to what caused Spector’s DID, and also remain ambiguous as to whether Konshu is actually real or a manifestation of Spector’s.
The upcoming show, which consists of six episodes, marks the sixth TV series in the MCU after WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If...? and Hawkeye. The limited series is a part of the fourth phase of the MCU.
Who are the cast and crew behind Moon Knight?
Oscar Isaac stars as the titular protagonist, and Ethan Hawke will essay the role of the show’s main antagonist, Arthur Harrow.
The series also features Gaspard Ulliel, May Calamawy and Lucy Thackeray.
Jeremy Slater has created the series and is also its head writer. It is directed by Mohamed Diab, and the duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.
When and where to watch Moon Knight?
Moon Night will premiere on Disney+Hotstar on March 30, 2022. The series can be watched in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and English.
