Monogamy: Chanchal Chowdhury showcases his look for Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's film

The director expressed his thoughts on the film on social media and released the first looks of Chanchal and the other actors. Amino Hossain and newcomer Jeffer Rahman are in other roles.

The Bangladeshi popular OTT platform Chorki recently announced a project consisting of a bouquet of 12 films. The project’s name is Ministry of Love. Twelve Bangladeshi directors will make 12 films on the theme of love. Mostofa Sarwar Farooki will make two films, named Monogamy and Autobiography.

The director kept the English name of Monogamy as the Last Defenders of Monogamy. Popular actor Chanchal Chowdhury plays the protagonist here. The director expressed his thoughts on the film on social media and released the first looks of Chanchal and the other actors. Amino Hossain and newcomer Jeffer Rahman are in other roles. Farooki wrote on Facebook, “I am working with Chanchal Bhai after a long time. This is Jeffer’s first acting. Another debutant, Prema, is there. The film’s story roams within our minds. The story takes the shapes of wit, emotion, and tragedy, just like life.”

In the photo released by the director, Chanchal wears a pair of glasses with salt and pepper hair. Chanchal told Bangladesh’s Prothom Alo, “My work with Farooki Bhai started in 2005. That work was the turning point of my career. The present film's story is different. There is a psychological angle that will make the audience think. My look and getup will also be different.”

The film's shooting has started. Farooki's films, like Television and Piprabidya, were critically acclaimed. Irrfan Khan acted in his film Doob, released in 2017.
