Indian-origin Hollywood actor, Dev Patel, has carved a niche for himself due to his amazing acting prowess. The actor, who made his acting debut with Slumdog Millionaire in 2008, is set to release his directorial debut film, Monkey Man. Monkey Man is an action-adventure film, which follows the life of a masked man who is on a mission to fight against evil. How he navigates through the corrupt administration becomes the plotline of the film.

Plot
Monkey Man explores the themes of love, ambition, crime and corruption through the leans of an orphaned young man whose sole aim is to avenge his mother’s death and become the saviour of the people. Inspired by the tales of Lord Hanuman, the central character becomes the masked Monkey Man who is willing to go to any lengths to protect the innocent from evil. Set in a peppy Punjabi background score, the film is filled with fast-paced action sequences which promises to be a visual treat on screen.

Speaking about his inspiration for the film, the actor revealed that growing up he used to listen to Ramayana and Mahabharat stories and thought about making this fusion of mythology with the action genre.
