Mona Singh praises 'OTT revolution' - 'Shows on this medium are so satisfying'

With three well-received releases this year—Made in Heaven 2, Kaala Paani, and Kafas— actor Mona Singh has had an amazing year. The actress, who has six releases and numerous shoots planned for the following year, reflects on the revolution of OTT platforms.
"OTT completely changed the game for actors like me, actors who were not getting the kind of work that they wanted to do," says the Made In Heaven 2 actor, who owes her success to the streaming service, in an interview with News18 Showsha. She also said that the move from TV to OTT and movies has been the smoothest for her. This medium offers incredibly fulfilling writing and a wide variety of entertainment. A woman is capable of being anything—she may be positive, she can be grey. "I’m so glad that all the shades are coming out on streaming platforms," she added.
With the release of her first TV show, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, 20 years ago, Mona gained fame and became well-known. The actress says she is appreciative of all the work that has come her way as she looks back on her two decades in show business, saying that these last 20 years have been very fulfilling, but they have required a lot of hard work.
One thing she said she knew for sure when she entered the business was that she didn't want to be a one-show wonder. "I kept reinventing myself with time. I think the patience and hard work have all paid off,” she said.
Mona Singh's projects
On the big screens, Mona last appeared in Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha, directed by Advait Chauhan. In the film, she played Aamir Khan's mother.
The actor's first performance of the year was in Kafas, where she played a mother who had to decide between her financial stability and her values. She is shown as a daring, fierce entrepreneur in Made in Heaven 2 who hides her vulnerability beneath a tough exterior. With her third OTT project of the year, Kaala Paani, she finds herself amid an unexplained illness outbreak.
