Renowned director Pavel has finally started shooting for his upcoming movie Mon Kharap. Starring Aparajita Adhya, Kaushik Sen, Priyanka Bhattacharjee, Riddhi Sen and Abantika, the makers have now roped in Ankush to play the lead role.

Pavel, whose last film Asur was lauded by critics and fans alike, is back with Mon Kharap, a psychological thriller that utilises dark comedic elements to reflect the current society. Ankush will be seen essaying the character of psychologist Nirban Sen, and through his dealings with patients, the audience will witness everyday problems coming to life.

In a chat with ETimes, Priyanka Bhattacharjee expressed how she will be seen in eleven different looks throughout the film, signifying the astonishing changes that the character will undergo as the plot progresses. Calling it a serious and challenging role, she thanked Pavel for the great opportunity and promised to deliver what’s needed from her. She always wanted to work with Pavel, and became his fan after watching Bala and Rosogolla, she said. “This film will show us how even in depression, we can celebrate life,” Priyanka added.

Presently, the team is in Kolkata for filming certain sequences, following which they will leave for an outdoor shoot in Purulia in August and return to Kolkata for the final schedule.
