Ram Gopal Varma, the senior filmmaker recently visited Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, at the location of the actor-director duo’s upcoming project, L2 Empuraan.
Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, the Malayalam superstar and the actor-director are now busy with the making of their ambitious project, L2 Empuraan. The filming of the project, which is gearing up to hit the theatres in March 2025, is nearing its final leg. Recently, senior filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma visited Mohanlal, with whom he has worked in the gangster film Company, on the sets of L2 Empuraan. The veteran actor’s ‘Stephen Nedumpally’ look from the pictures is now winning hearts on the internet.
Recently, Ram Gopal Varma took to his official social media handles and posted a new click with Company actor Mohanlal, which was clicked at the sets of the superstar’s upcoming project, L2 Empuraan. “Memories of COMPANY... Met the one and only @Mohanlal after a long long time,” reads the senior filmmaker’s social media post.
For the uninitiated, Mohanlal played a pivotal role in Ram Gopal Varma’s 2002-released iconic gangster film, Company. If you wish to revisit the iconic film, the multi-starrer is currently available for streaming, on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium.
The cinephiles are now going gaga over Mohanlal’s ‘Stephen Nedumpally’ look from L2 Empuraan which the actor flaunts in his latest clicks with Ram Gopal Varma. The netizens point out the details in the superstar’s salt and pepper beard and hairdo, which signifies how the character will be shown as an aging man, in the upcoming Lucifer sequel. They also suggest that Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s location stills with Ram Gopal Varma have been taken during a high-voltage fight sequence, which is being shot at the Malambuzha forest of Palakkad, Kerala.

Interestingly, Ram Gopal Varma also penned an interesting note for director Prithviraj Sukumaran, in another X (formerly Twitter) post. “Me the DIRECTOR watching an ACTOR direct... Sir @PrithviOfficial ,if you take away our job also, what will we do?” asked the senior filmmaker, in his post. The L2 Empuraan director, who reshared Ram Gopal Varma’s post, replied: “Nobody..NOBODY..can take away what you have done for Indian cinema Sir! Was a privilege to have you on sets!”
