Mohanlal is currently working in Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Malaikottai Vaaliban
Director Tinu Pappachan’s latest photo with Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda had sent Mohanlal fans speculating whether the filmmaker, who is currently working as the chief associate in Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Malaikottai Vaaliban, was sent to rope the actor in for the big budget entertainer.
While the jury is still out on whether Vijay Deverakonda has agreed to be a part of Malaikottai Vaaliban, we now hear that Tinu was in Hyderabad to discuss another project. The Swathandaryam Ardharathryil and Ajagajantharam director reportedly had pitched a movie to Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil-starrer Pushpa producers, Mythri Movie Makers, and they have agreed to bankroll it as well.
The movie, which is touted to be a big-budget action film with Mohanlal in the lead, will also mark the Pushpa makers second collaboration with the superstar. Mohanlal had worked with the producers in their second Telugu venture Janatha Garage, which also has NTR Jr and Unni Mukundan, back in 2016.
Mythri Movie Makers, meanwhile, is already attached to two Malayalam films – Adrishya Jalakangal and Nadigar Thilakam. Both the films have Minnal Murali star Tovino Thomas in the lead. Adrishya Jalakangal, which is also co-produced by Tovino, is helmed by Dr Biju and is an “anti-war” film that has “surrealistic themes”, as per the director.
Nadigar Thilakam, which also has Soubin Shahir, meanwhile is a full-out commercial entertainer. The film, directed by Lal Jr, is expected to go on floors in the next two months, after Tovino is done with his pending commitments.
Meanwhile, Tinu and Mohanlal are expected to team up for their film only by the end of this year. The actor, who is also part of Rajinikanth’s Jailer, has a two-month-long schedule for Malaikottai Vaaliban. He is then expected to begin the promotions of his directorial Barroz: The Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure and also complete the remaining portions of Jeethu Joseph’s Ram, which is set for an Onam release. Mohanlal also has Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Empuraan set to begin shoot later in the year.
