Nelson's Tamil film Jailer marks the first time that superstars Rajinikanth and Mohanlal will be seen together onscreen. The trailer and teaser of the film have already been released and have piqued the curiosity of fans thanks to its captivating action sequences and Rajinikanth's much-loved signature style.

Among those lauding the film was music composer Anirudh Ravichander who had praised it through a tweet. Now, in an interview, Mohanlal called the film "interesting" and dropped a clue about his character in Jailer.

"I play an interesting character in Jailer. The film itself is interesting. I don't want to reveal anything more about the character or the movie. If I say anything more, it might become a giveaway. So, let it be suspense," he told Manorama News.

Mohanlal, who plays a character named Matthew in the film, will be seen in a cameo in Jailer. Even though he does not feature in the trailer, the teaser and first look show him in a retro look, wearing a printed shirt and oversized glasses. Netizens had compared his look in Jailer with that of Dr. Sunny, the character Mohanlal played in the superhit Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu.

Jailer is slated to release in theatres on August 10. It is an action film that revolves around the life of Muthuvel Pandian, a jailer. Besides Mohanlal and Rajinikanth, the film also stars Kannada star Shivarajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Vinayakan. Baahubali actress Ramya Krishnan also plays a key role in the film.
