Mohanlal, Jeethu Joseph's mystery thriller titled 12th Man

The movie is set to go on floors soon,

A few days ago, director Jeethu Joseph had confirmed to us that Mohanlal and he would be teaming up for a thriller soon. The makers have now released the first poster of the movie and also its title.

Mohanlal, who shared the poster, wrote, “Happy to announce my upcoming movie 12th Man,” while revealing that the film will be produced by Anthony Perumbavoor and directed by Jeethu. The poster shows Mohanlal walking into a house on a foggy evening.

The mystery thriller, which is scripted by KR Krishna Kumar, will be Mohanlal’s fourth collaboration with Jeethu, after Drishyam, Drishyam 2 and the incomplete action-thriller Ram. The film, the director had earlier told us, has been conceived keeping in mind the pandemic restrictions.

Mohanlal will complete his portions for the movie, before he moves on to work with Prithviraj Sukumaran in the latter’s second directorial BroDaddy. That movie, meanwhile, is a feel-good family entertainer, which also has Kalyani Priyadarshan, Kaniha, Soubin Shahir and Murali Gopy in pivotal roles apart from Prithviraj and Mohanlal in the lead.

On choosing the script, in an earlier interview with us, Prithviraj said, “It really appealed to me and it made me realise how much we have missed a film like this. In my mind, it was never meant to be a huge multi-starrer or anything. I thought it was so different from what I am used to as it’s different from my first movie and my supposed second film; so, I wanted to give it a try. It will be great for me as a filmmaker. I am going to break myself as I will have to conceive it differently. And then casually I narrated this script to Lalettan and immediately, he said we are doing it. That’s how it took off.”
