Mohanlal is currently on a signing spree and has some highly exciting projects in his kitty. The Malayalam superstar is set to reunite with senior filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad for his 361st film. The much-awaited project, which is expected to have its official launch very soon, is touted to be a family entertainer with a touch of humour. Recently, Sathyan Anthikad’s son and filmmaker Akhil Sathyan took to his official Instagram handle and dropped a major update on the untitled Mohanlal starrer’s plot.
According to recent reports by Reporter Live, Akhil Sathyan took to his personal Instagram handle and shared a recent picture of Mohanlal and Sathyan Anthikad, which was clicked at the Vanitha Film Awards 2024 event. Interestingly, the Pachuvum Athbhuthavilakkum director revealed that he is super excited about the iconic actor-director duo’s eagerly-awaited next project, which has a ‘super interesting’ plot. Director Akhil’s new revelation has left Mohanlal fans and Malayalam cinema lovers equally excited.
Even though nothing much has been revealed about the untitled project, director Sathyan Anthikad earlier confirmed that the movie is a light-hearted entertainer. Mohanlal is set to play the role of a common man after a very long gap in the movie, which is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. Althaf Salim, the young actor-director, is reportedly playing a pivotal role in the movie, which is expected to start rolling by mid-2024. More updates on the female lead and the rest of the star cast are expected to be out soon.

The iconic actor-director duo of Malayalam cinema teamed up for the first time in 1984 for the romantic comedy movie, Appunni. Later, Mohanlal and Sathyan Anthikad collaborated on many iconic films, including Gandhinagar 2nd Street, Nadodikkattu, Pattanapravesham, Varavelppu, Pingami, Rasathanthram, and more. The duo’s last outing, Ennum Eppozhum, which emerged as a superhit, was released in 2015.
