Mithun Chakraborty fell ill on February 10 in the morning in Kolkata. The septuagenarian actor has been shooting a Bengali film, Pathikrit Guha’s Shastri. The film was produced by actor-politician Soham Chakraborty, who was in the hospital with the actor.

According to sources, Mithun Chakraborty completed his shooting on February 9 at Barahanagar Jute Mill. He was supposed to start shooting early on Saturday. However, he complained of uneasiness and was rushed to a hospital at EM Bypass. According to unauthorised sources, the actor suffered a brain stroke. Sources from the hospital said he was undergoing treatment and responding to medication.

The unit that worked with him on Friday confirmed that there was no hint of his discomfort at the shooting spot. “He shot almost all the days and yet there was not an iota of illness in him. He shot till evening and went back after the wrap,” said a source from the unit.

After the massive success of Avijit Sen’s Projapoti with Dev, Mithun worked on Suman Ghosh’s Kabuliwala. Now, he started shooting Shastri. According to reports, he was supposed to start working with Raj Chakraborty on a mega project.
