Mithun Chakraborty suddenly fell ill on Saturday and was admitted to the hospital by actor Soham Chakraborty. He is right now in a private hospital by EM Bypass. The statement says, "Shri Mithun Chakraborty, 73, National Award-winning actor, was brought to the Emergency Department of Apollo Multispecialty Hospitals, Kolkata, around 9.40 am with complaints of weakness in the right upper and lower limbs. Necessary laboratory and radiology investigations were carried out including an MRI of the brain. He has been diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (stroke) of the brain. Presently, he is fully conscious, well-oriented, and has consumed a soft diet." The statement also says that Mithun is under treatment by a medical board that includes a neuro-physicist, a cardiologist, and a gastroenterologist. According to sources, he was out of ICCU.

However, a few hours before the statement came out, Mithun's son Mimoh told OTTplay, "My father is 100% fine. This is a routine checkup."
Previously, director Raj Chakraborty came to see Mithun and said, "Mithunda talked to me and said that his sugar level went up. That was why he was admitted. He did not have any brain stroke. He is completely fine and will be released tomorrow.
Debashree Roy also came to see the actor and assured the others by saying that Mithun is keeping well. Soham Chakraborty, for whose film Shastry Mithun was shooting in Kolkata, said ''Mithunda is keeping well. He is under the doctors' observation."
