Mithai to get back on TV once again

Mithai is going to make a comeback on Zee Bangla. The channel authority decided to recast the serial, keeping in mind its popularity. So, it is not a sequel. The old Mithai will be shown again. The serial will start on November 13. It will take a one-hour slot, between 12.30 and 1.30 pm,. Thus, two episodes will be shown together.

Hindustan Times Bangla contacted Soumitrisha Kundu aka Mithai. What was her reaction? She was at first stunned hearing the news. Her first reaction was: “What? Is Mithai 2 coming?” After getting a clearer picture, she said, “So soon? It just ended. But I am happy that people loved it so much. Those who did not watch it before will have a chance to watch it now.”

Soumitrisha was asked whether she would do Mithai 2 if such an offer was made. She said, “I can't do it at this moment since I am not currently working on television. If any such thought is there in the future, I will think about it. But generally, the cast is not repeated in the sequel. However, the rule is different for films and the web. I wish the best for someone if they work in Mithai 2. But it will not be bad if the same cast is used.”

Mithai ended in June. It consistently secured a place at or near the top of the TRP list.
