Mission Raniganj OTT release date - When and where to watch Akshay Kumar's disaster thriller film online

After two months of its theatrical release, Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue will premiere on OTT. The film, starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role, will drop on Netflix on December 1, 2023. The OTT giant posted a teaser for the movie along with the announcement on their website.

Mission Raniganj is a movie that Tinu Suresh Desai directed and was based on actual events. Akshay Kumar plays the role of Jaswant Singh Gill, an IIT Dhanbad mining engineer who saved the lives of 65 stranded coal miners in the Raniganj Coalfields in 1989.

Parineeti Chopra plays the female lead in the film, while the supporting cast includes Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, Gaurav Prateek, Virendra Saxena, Saanand Verma, Shishir Sharma, Ananth Mahadevan, Aarif Zakaria, Jameel Khan, Sudhir Pandey, Bachan Pachera, Mukesh Bhatt, and Omkar Das Manikpuri.

Mission Raniganj was among the least promoted films of Akshay, and revealing the reason behind it, the actor said in an interview, "I promoted Selfie a lot, but it didn’t work. Promotion is the wrong aspect. I didn’t go anywhere to promote OMG 2. It got word-of-mouth promotion. If I promote the film, people will take it for granted, thinking it’s my job to promote my film. But if somebody else appreciates it and tells them to watch it, they will go and watch the film."

The actor went on to say that it's becoming more of a trend now, and he is doing his job. He also claimed that if he visits a specific city to promote his movie, it will not occur; those are useless. In content-oriented films, movies that combine lots of singing and lots of fighting are distinct from one another and function in a unique fashion. Akshay is applying this knowledge in his current endeavours.

However, Mission Raniganj was a box-office failure.
