Mission Raniganj a heroic rescue thriller, has its release date, and Akshay Kumar announced it with a new motion poster. The film is scheduled for release on October 6, 2023. It is based on true events that occurred in the Raniganj Coalfield and the courageous actions of the late Shri Jaswant Singh Gill, who led the rescue mission inside a coal mine in Bharat. The actor plays the role of Gill in the film.

The motion poster shows an inside look at the dramatic rescue mission that was launched when men became trapped in the coal mine's 350-foot shaft. The film's plot revolves around Akshay, who plays the heroic Gill, and his brave rescue of the miners.

Interestingly, the film was earlier titled The Great Indian Rescue. Now, the tagline of the film is The Great Bharat Rescue along with the title Mission Raniganj.
What the film is about?
For the uninitiated, the courageous Jaswant Singh Gill played a pivotal role in the successful rescue mission in Bharat in November 1989, when all the remaining miners were rescued from a flooded coal mine in Raniganj.
The star cast of the film includes Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma, Ananth Mahadevan, Jameel Khan, Sudhir Pandey, Bachan Pachera, Mukesh Bhatt, and Omkar Das Manik.
